AI Image Sticker Booth
Step Right Up!
Customer requests and test prints.
I try to do something new every time I do an event. In this instance the WAC Gallery in Palmdale asked me to be a vendor for a holiday bazar.
It occurred to me that bespoke AI images can now be produced fast enough to deliver them to a customer within 5 or 10 minutes. Further, while many people have heard of it, not many have seen it in action.
Roryās Story cubes for the uninspired.

I prototyped everything on my dining room table. I have a long history of missing details so proceeded with the idea that everything needed for the setup (except WiFi and an outlet) would be physically on the table. This made it easy to assure I wouldnāt forget anything.
The booth itself was āprogrammer artā (the bare minimum to facilitate the task at hand). For printing I used a Polono PL60 thermal label printer because itās extremely fast and inexpensive to print and thereās no ink to deal with.
Although it lacks color and the resolution prohibits fine shades of gray, a little image processing brought out a few viable styles. I built a script to prepare the images for printing at the push of a button.
Finally, the sales workflow was extremely easy to implement using Google Forms and Google Sheets. We used a Form that my son filled out while interacting with customers. Back at the table the orders appeared on a spreadsheet in which Iād already implemented formulae to format the order for Midjourney (our selected AI image generation tool).
